Blake Varner

At 210 years old, it might come as a surprise that Blake is actually a high school student.

When he was just 18 he was attacked by a strange woman in the back room of a bar and left there with no explanation of why she had attacked and changed him and Blake still doesn't know. He's never come across her and he's resigned to the fact that he most likely never will.

He lived alone for nearly a hundred years, living off animals mostly but also the occassional human. Mostly from temptation than anything. Blake doesn't believe in hurting humans when they've done nothing to him but a couple of accidents and wrong place - wrong time sort of things, has made him take a few lives.

When he was in his early 100's he came across another vampire, Brendan, who actually believed the same thing he did.. that harming and feeding off humans was an awful act that vampires committed. With Brendan's help Blake was much more able to control his urges for human blood and hasn't had a drop since.

While some of the vampires in their group that they've gathered over the years has paired off with others, Blake is quite content to be on his own. Human urges are beyond him and something that he hasn't felt since before he was turned. Blake has no need for companionship beyond his friendship with Brendan but he does have a strange feeling that something is just waiting for him around the corner..

Blake is quiet and picky about everything he does from the women he finds attractive to the projects that he starts. He enjoys painting, especially portraits and he's incredibly kind despite being a vampire. Blake has always been able to tell what people were thinking so it's no surprise that in his vampire life, he can actually read minds.
